This is my country.

When I read “This is my country” by Ephraim Kishon, I thought about whether there could be something similar in Ukraine and whether I could ever formulate something identical about our country.

So here it is:

This is the only country where a mobilized postman from an old Soviet MANPADS can destroy an “analogovnet” for $100,000,000.

This is the only country where girls want to marry not a millionaire or an IT specialist but a military man.

This is the only country where the commander-in-chief, the captain of the KVN team from Kryvyi Rih, for 182 days, cruelly and desperately punishes the former KGB resident and former director of the FSB, and now the commander-in-chief of the “second army of the world.”

This is the only country where there are queues at the recruitment office on the day of the war’s start, despite mobilization not being announced.

This is the only country where those who played Dota and PlayStation yesterday are now attacking enemy positions from attack drones.

This is the only country where children, parents, and the older generation can discuss geopolitics and weapons on an equal footing.

This is the only country where the economy fell in the 4th month of the war, and with a budget deficit of $ 20 billion, 500 million hryvnias were collected for strike UAVs in 7 days. And it’s still the Ukrainians who did not exchange dollars.

This is the only country where, four months after the most severe shelling of Bucha and Gostomel, people are finishing repairs to houses, apartments, and businesses, and advertisements for the delivery of new real estate appear on websites.

This is the only country where people can buy a satellite.

This is the only country where photographers and cameramen donate their quadcopters to the army, and IT people figure out how to make striker UAVs out of them.

This is the only country in the world where in the West, you eat “zupka” and drive a “rover.” In the east, you take off your “payta,” hang your clothes on a “trempel,” and no one cares because everyone understands each other perfectly, no matter how they try to prove the opposite to us.

This is the only country in which those who were accused of Nazism by the world media yesterday at the suggestion of the aggressor can quickly go on air on Israeli radio and TV because they share common values.

This is the only country where world-famous artists ask local musicians to make a feat, not vice versa.

This is the only country that has been tried to be destroyed, plundered, and crushed for centuries, but it has survived and continues its struggle.

This is the only country not afraid of more and believes in miracles.

This is the only country that is creating these miracles right now.

This is my country.
